DMVR Board Meeting Notes: 6/2/2020

Road Racing:
• This weekend was a super tour event at St. Louis. Social Media blackout due to not having approval from the state but the track ran the event.
• 122 cars present, not as high as normal for St. Louis but still promising.
• Next Event is June 27-28 at Hallette.
• June Sprints at Road America are current at 500 cars registered.
• Will be interesting to see how they hold such a large event.
• Helmet Stickers:
• Currently trying to get a hold of people, but have not gotten return calls.
• A lot of staff laid-off/furloughed during the pandemic
TT:
• Event at end of June
• Club racing trailer is now with Robbie
• Will need to fix several things on it before the race
• Transponders need to be acquired
Iowa Speedway Update:
• Many of the speedway staff that we have worked with to set up the current event this season are now no longer working with them.
• Kansas Speedway staff is now running the events, and we have not been in contact them
yet about the current events scheduled for the remainder of the season.
Potential to Move IA Speedway Events to RPM:
• Discussion of the track surface, and those who have run on it recently speaking to it being very rough.
• Nathan is running there this weekend and will report back on whether or not the track has improved
• Additional discussion on track surface.
• Discussion on whether it would be good to run another solo event on the track
• Issues raised from last time we held an event there
• Issues with track size allowing for solo course
• Where could we paddock, where can we set up, etc.
• Continued discussions will take place as we get closer to the event date.
Solo:
• Event scheduled for June 21st
• 18 Pre-Registered, cap of 40 cars
• COVID-19 Regulations
• No Mentor Program, no novices allowed for this event
• Only Pre-Registered
• Drivers, and event staff only
• No spectators, no minors
• Waivers:
• Discussion of an online waiver system for people to pre-sign
• Send a reminder out to people
• Discussion on a “Crew” +1 system
• Discussion on additional waiver due to venue
• Discussion on Check-In process
• Will have staff around to assist in making sure the day runs smoothly
• Tech:
• Have drivers self tech with the tech team watching while they do so. They will not be
allowed to self tech prior
• MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES – UNLESS IN VEHICLE OR OWN PADDOCK AREA
• NO LOANER HELMETS – DRIVERS MUST BRING THEIR OWN HELMET
• RIDE ALONGS – are only allowed for people who have quarantined together
• 1 Warning, Otherwise you are gone
• PA System for drivers meeting, printed out and posted upon arrival to venue, emailed out to drivers prior to the event
• Boonie will update rules and regulations and make a paper copy, send out to board for
approval prior to event.
• Discussion on how to set up an online payment system
• No on site payment allowed
• Differed billing, do not charge until day after event
All rules and regulations changes due to the COVID-19 Pandemic will be released on
Facebook & Motorsports Reg once FINAL
Supplies needed:
• Lysol Spray – Erich
• Clorox Wipes – Taylor
• $20 we can get 50 3-ply masks – Erich
• Hand Sanitizer – Erich
• Some gloves available – Erich
Staff Needed:
• Timer & Auditor:
• Need to be two people who are quarantining together to make work due to size of the
trailer
• Set up would need to be perfect to allow for two people time with one person outside of
the trailer and one person inside the trailer
• Registration Check In
• Happen at booth at entrance to race track
• Only registered drivers and crew are allowed on property
• Waivers will be filled out prior to attending and/or they will be sent to a link to fill out
before admitted to track
• Additional staff with be selected via the worker post, once selected they will be required to join the pre-race event details meeting
Treasurer:
• We have Money! (and there was much rejoicing)
• Copy of financial report has been sent out
• Bob has also mailed them out to particular parties involved
Rally:
• Balloon Classic will not be available for rent, using time off to repair fields
• Open to discussion for 2021 events
Racing Trailer:
• Needs to be inventoried
• Need to have the trailer cleaned up, and potential repairs
• Some items belong to Dick, which we have been using at his kindness
• If we wish to use them, he would would like to be reimbursed if we do continue to use
those items.
Workers:
• Only one worker went to the May Race at St. Louis for worker
Assistant RE:
• COVID Impacts on end of year banquet
• Will contact former RE for advice on planning, especially in light of the pandemic
• DMVR Board Meetings will continue to be an online call between board members
• DMVR Meeting notes will be sent to website for posting & additionally added on the
Facebook page as pictures for posting as well
• This will continue until Drifting content is available to begin having a newsletter once again
July Board Meeting will be on – June 30th, 2020
Membership Event/Meeting – July 7th, 2020
• Fairly open space – 30 people max
• Shelter at a local park
• Bring Your Own Food / Drink
• Masks Required
• Hand Sanitizer
Street Survival:
• 2 potential dates available
• First Sunday in October
• First Sunday in November
• DMACC cannot rent out their classrooms, due to state regulations on if they can hold
classes this fall.
• Discussion on if we can even hold event if we cannot have in car instructors
